Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
The 2024-2025 recruiting season for the Zurich team, which began in Spring 2024, has been highly strategic. The team has implemented a year-round recruitment cycle, focusing in the spring on 10 events with partner schools to capture the interest of rising juniors and seniors for the Fall 2024 season. Utilizing sourcing pipelines, candidates are tagged in the system for future recruitment efforts. Over 11,000 candidates were pipelined through LinkedIn, RippleMatch, the applicant tracking system, and onsite/digital events. Additionally, the team revamped the intern programming and conversion process, ensuring selected interns receive their offers before completing their internships. The team entered the year with a well-balanced slate of available talent, ready to be hired in record time.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
The Zurich UR team is leveraging technology to improve results and efficiency in several ways. One of the first implementations was Yello’s pre-recorded video interview solution, replacing the standard recruiter screen. This change allowed the team to screen candidates and move them to offers much faster than in previous hiring seasons, reducing time to hire by as much as four months last season, with even faster results anticipated this season. Additionally, the Zurich team partnered with the internal Operations team to streamline and automate candidate communications throughout the interview process via Yello. The team also focused heavily on proactively sourcing candidates through LinkedIn, sourcing 5,000 early talent candidates last recruitment season and over 10,000 candidates this season.
Excellence in Candidate Experience
Zurich prioritizes creating a positive candidate experience for student job seekers by offering a comprehensive and engaging recruitment process. The company maintains a high standard for its recruitment process, ensuring candidates stay informed and connected throughout. Zurich hosts informational webinars and shares videos that highlight its company culture and opportunities. Onsite campus events provide students with the chance to interact with employees from their field of interest, offering valuable insights and networking opportunities. Additionally, Zurich maintains monthly touchpoints as part of a ‘keep warm’ strategy, keeping candidates updated, answering questions, and providing personalized support to make the experience both informative and encouraging.
Excellence in DE&I
Zurich North America views early career talent as the future of the organization. To ensure early career talent is available to meet future talent needs, the University Recruiting Team posts available opportunities with HBCUs, HSIs, public universities, and on RippleMatch, while also leveraging proactive sourcing and branding strategies to build awareness and develop a pipeline of diverse talent. Zurich North America also maintains a robust group of Employee Resource Groups that help market the Zurich brand to diverse talent through community partnerships and professional networks.
