Wesco focuses on a "recruit once, hire twice" philosophy. Their early career program offerings are designed to engage with students early in their college experience and carry them into their post development program roles. The Summer Leadership Conference is designed to provide exposure and experience to students in their freshmen and sophomore years. The Summer Internship Program targets rising seniors, and their full-time development programs are focused towards recent and upcoming graduates. Through collaborative partnerships with local and national universities, Wesco is focused on building a brand that students can identify with as being an employer of choice.

Standout Candidate Experience

Wesco's streamlined application and interview process have allowed the team to create a positive candidate experience. Wesco leverages a pre-recorded interview tool which normally takes the place of a standard phone screen. This saves the candidate time, and allows them to complete the process anytime anywhere. Wesco's early career programs consist of 2-3 rounds of interviews that are normally completed from start to finish in less than 2 weeks.

Impactful Internship Program

The Wesco Summer Internship Program is a 10-week immersive experience focused around providing real world professional experience to rising seniors. Interns are not just considered temporary labor or seasonal support. They are working side-by-side full-time employees performing job functions that keep the business moving forward. Summer Interns work under the supervision of a department leader and can learn about Wesco's people, processes, and culture. Wesco's summer internship program is essentially a 10-week interview and acts as a talent feeder for their full-time development programs. In 2023, Wesco converted 75% of their summer interns into full-time hires.
