TD Bank is committed to identifying & nurturing the next generation of leaders through their early talent recruitment programs. They actively recruit through their partnerships with their top Universities, Historically Black Colleges & Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutitons & diverse student organizations providing candidates with a friendly and inclusive experience. During their recruitment season, they attend in person career fairs, host TD sponsored events with diverse student organizations and attend various diverse organization conferences. During TD Sponsored events, they provide support to students by reviewing interview best practices , resume reviews, career readiness, & financial literacy workshops. They also host panel discussions with past intern & analyst classes so candidates can get a better understanding of their early talent programs & process.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
The TD Early Talent Team has embraced technology to enhance the candidate experience and reach hundreds of candidates through virtual events. Using platforms like Handshake and LinkedIn Recruiter, the team hosted interactive Financial Literacy and Career Readiness sessions, empowering candidates with critical skills like credit building, budgeting, and career development. Resume workshops and interview prep sessions were tailored to position candidates for success for TD’s Early Talent opportunities. To deepen engagement, a follow-up virtual program connected candidates with TD colleagues who shared firsthand insights into the company’s culture, career paths, and Early Talent programs. By leveraging technology, TD reached candidates across various states, increasing diversity and representation, while maintaining a personalized, high-touch approach that establishes TD as an employer of choice for Gen Z talent.
Excellence in Candidate Experience
TD understands that interviews can be a stressful experience, especially for early talent. Given this, they are committed to providing a positive & supportive candidate experience throughout the interview process by sending personalized communications to the candidates, providing clear expectations of how the interview process will run by including descriptions of the interview format, interviewing team, and more information about the business that they are interviewing in. By setting clear expectations, they hope to reduce their anxiety and help students feel confident. Ahead of the final round interview, they also provide tips on behavioral interviewing and how to articulate candidates experiences. Their goal is to make sure candidates feel confident to showcase their true potential.
Excellence in DE&I
TD understands the importance of D&I and it is at the forefront of their recruitment efforts. They actively partner with diverse organizations, have strong partnerships with over 10 HBCU & HSIs, and created meaningful relationships with diverse student organizations such as ALPFA, Women in Business & Black Business Association across their top Universities to ensure students have a good understanding of their programs & positions. Internally, they work hard to eliminate biases through both their screening & interview process. Once candidates are hired, they provide candidates with a strong support system through mentorship, employee resource groups, and ongoing learning & development opportunities. By creating this culture of belonging, TD empowers candidates to find their true potential.
Excellence in Internship Programming
TD provides an engaging and supportive experience for their Summer Interns. Their program enables interns to grow professional skills and knowledge that will help further their career, gain support through colleagues who value teamwork, inclusivity & collaboration, and learn from industry leaders who are passionate about mentoring & guiding the next generation of professionals. Some highlights from their past program experiences include in-person Orientation which included speed networking with senior leaders, executive keynote speakers, panel discussions with past interns, & partnering with Impact4Good to give back to the community. Other highlights include the Innovation Challenge in which interns propose & present a solution to an internal business opportunity, and workshops such as learning how to Amplify Your Brand, Navigating Your Career & Resume/Interview Tips.
