This reflects Splunk, LLC's unwavering excellence and commitment to providing the best experience for the next generation of talent. Splunk, LLC invests in multi-faceted recruitment strategies, innovative technology, inclusive recruitment practices, and standout internship programs. See below for the highlights of their strategies in each one of these categories.
Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
Splunk’s Emerging Talent Team has continued their hybrid recruitment approach this season, hosting on-campus events, attending career fairs at strategic HBCUs and HSIs, delivering school-agnostic events - such as the ‘Splunk AI Tech Talk’ - and partnering closely with national diversity organizations. They also launched a curated social media campaign to promote their school-agnostic events, available internship and early career opportunities, and to announce Splunk’s attendance at on-campus events. This included a blog series, which offered insight into the experiences of past interns at Splunk, as well as direct outreach to students through Handshake, LinkedIn, and Yello, delivering on a wide-reaching, candidate-focused strategy. The team continues to deliver a world-class candidate experience through 1:1 relationships with Recruiters, tailored interview prep, and an efficient and transparent interview process.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
Splunk’s Emerging Talent Team actively embraces technology to improve the results and efficiency of their recruitment process and program. The team begins by utilizing a software tool which optimizes, and reduces biases in, their job descriptions. Then, roles are posted externally on their Careers site, via their ATS, as well as other job boards - such as Handshake - to build a strong pipeline of talent. A recruitment CRM is used to manage candidate campaigns and pre- and post-event engagement, and virtual events are hosted via Zoom. During the interview stage, the team incorporates an on-demand video interviewing and assessment platform, along with a tool used to create interview guides and capture interviewer feedback. Lastly, an organizational survey tool is used to capture feedback from interns, managers, and key stakeholders about their overall program experience.
Excellence in DE&I
Splunk’s Emerging Talent Team continues to prioritize building strong partnerships and strategic relationships - with numerous HBCUs, HSIs and NASNTIs, with student organizations such as SWE, NSBE, and SHPE, and with national organizations such as CodePath, ColorStack, Code2040, and HireMilitary - through hosting and/or attending events and activities, as well as inviting members to apply for available opportunities. The team has also collaborated closely with their Employee Resource Groups to host school-agnostic recruitment events, such as ‘Belonging at Splunk’ and ‘Women in STEM,’ to further engage underrepresented talent. In addition, Splunk remains committed to its HBCU Academic Scholarship Program which, to date, has awarded $500,000 in scholarships to exceptional HBCU students, who demonstrate strong academic achievements, innovations through technology, and distinctive leadership contributions to their communities.
Excellence in Internship Programming
Splunk’s year-round, hybrid internship program - referred to as the “Splunktern Program” - provides interns the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in Splunk’s culture and gain hands-on, real-world experience. As an example, some interns have had their names included on Splunk patents, while others have had the chance to present at Splunk’s annual user conference, “.conf.” During the program, interns are afforded flexible work schedules, volunteer activities, and a formal mentorship program. The Emerging Talent Team further augments their experience by offering additional engagement opportunities, such as Executive Tech Talks, professional development workshops, social events, networking hours, and a global Social Impact project competition, “Splunk for Splunkterns.” The Splunktern Program consistently receives positive feedback from intern classes, including 99% who ‘would recommend Splunk as a great place to do an internship!’
