The Early Talent recruiting team at RS&H has only recently grown from a team of 1 to a team of 2, but in a short time has worked to stand up a student ambassador program and internal campus teams to help deepen relationships and build brand recognition with students at partner campuses . The team strategically coordinates both in-person and virtual events to meet the organization's early talent hiring needs, while utilizing a university-agnostic hiring approach to ensure diversity in candidate pools. The team prioritizes transparency and authenticity in all early talent recruiting efforts, working diligently to provide timely updates to all applicants.
Excellence in DE&I
RS&H is committed to creating a connected future where everyone can thrive. The organization's core values drive efforts to cultivate an equitable environment focused on ensuring a culture of belonging. With diverse voices, RS&H can continue to develop the creative and forward-thinking solutions necessary to solve some of the biggest challenges for communities throughout the world. RS&H Interns are provided mentors, personal development, and the opportunity to engage with and join Employee Resources Groups. The Early Talent team has built new relationships with 5 HBCUs and HSIs, along with sponsoring local chapters of student organizations like SWE, SHPE, and NSBE. The organization also partners with THRIVE Scholars to provide scholarships and opportunities for underrepresented minorities before they begin their college education.
Excellence in Internship Programming
At RS&H, interns work alongside professionals on the same projects that associates are working on for clients. This means interns receive hands-on, real world experience through the internship program. The early talent team has focused on providing a best-in-class internship experience by incorporating development opportunities, mentorship, and opportunities to engage with our Employee Resource Groups. With a focus on continuous improvement, interns are encouraged to provide feedback throughout their internship term which is reviewed and actioned immediately where appropriate. The early talent team has worked tirelessly with business leaders to emphasize the importance of retaining this valuable talent, and hopes to double the intern conversion rate year over year (27% in 2023; currently at 35% in 2024 with potential to reach 62%).
