The team focuses on universities near office locations and in areas with highly diverse candidate populations, ensuring the talent pool reflects Reddit’s diverse user base. Leveraging platforms like RippleMatch, generative AI, and advanced algorithms, Reddit identifies and highlights qualified candidates for roles early in the process. The team also hosted a Reddit AMA in r/csmajors to connect with students on the platform and drive interest in opportunities. This blend of in-person engagement and cutting-edge technology enables Reddit to build a robust, diverse pipeline of skilled early-career talent.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
Technology plays an integral role in enhancing the efficiency and outcomes of Reddit's recruitment and emerging talent programs. Combining human expertise with language models, Reddit designs engaging and relevant on-campus workshops tailored to student interests. RippleMatch streamlines sourcing by automatically identifying candidates with key skills, while ModernLoop optimizes the interview experience through automated scheduling and a candidate portal that ensures transparency and preparedness. Additionally, Google Workspace products enable the collection and analysis of feedback from program participants about their experience with Reddit, allowing for continuous refinement and improvement of processes based on their insights.
Excellence in Candidate Experience
Reddit prioritize a values and human-centered recruitment approach to create a positive experience for student job seekers. Through partnerships with diverse student organizations and national nonprofits, Reddit hosts workshops on technical interviewing and navigating challenges like imposter syndrome, fostering job accessibility, and personal connection. Recruiter screens include personalized questions like, “What’s something not on your resume that you’d like us to know?” to align candidates with roles that suit their interests and get to know who they are outside of work. To expand the talent pipeline, the team transformed its HBCU Fellowship Program into an early ID program for sophomores, blending their educational knowledge with practical internship experience. Additionally, Reddit's ERG Intern Buddy Program pairs interns with full-time employees who share similar lived experiences, ensuring they feel supported and included throughout their journey at Reddit.

Reddit’s internship program emphasizes building community while empowering individuals in their emerging careers. The program organizes fun and engaging events for interns, such as Reddit scavenger hunts in NYC and SF, fostering community and immersing them in Reddit's culture. Affectionately called “Snooterns,” Reddit interns work on impactful projects, such as developing web-based applications to enhance subreddit engagement.
