This reflects Pella Corporation's unwavering excellence and commitment to providing the best experience for the next generation of talent. Pella Corporation invests in multi-faceted recruitment strategies, innovative technology, inclusive recruitment practices, and standout internship programs. See below for the highlights of their strategies in each one of these categories.
Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
Innovation is at the forefront of Pella Corporation's recruitment strategy for early career talent. The university relations team is intentional with their efforts to create meaningful connections with the candidates they meet on campus. From attending career fairs across the country to sponsoring national student organizations, Pella's investments are in building the talent advantage. They also emphasize an enhanced candidate experience, offering virtual interviews for busy intern candidates and personalized onsite interviews for candidates being considered for full time employment. Pella has also launched an exclusive on campus interview opportunity this year to entice candidates to interview and fill high need roles with same day or next day offers. The team has expanded from one member to five members this year and assigned one team member to be the dedicated campus Sourcer, focusing on finding the right people for the company.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
In this ever-changing, fast-paced world, the university relations team at Pella Corporation embraces technology in their everyday lives. They do this by utilizing AI search functions to source the most qualified candidates with the specific background and experiences that their teams need for future success. Personalized communication is more important than ever before in the recruiting space, and the use of AI text suggestions has been crucial in prompting potential candidates to consider Pella for future opportunities and increase interactions with recruiters. The team has also recognized the convenience that virtual events and social media can provide to impact their reach outside the local recruiting sphere. Therefore, the campus team has created new virtual channels with schools to meet with students and posts regularly on social media to notify interested students of the campus team's participation in on campus events.
Excellence in DE&I
Pella Corporation is committed to establishing an inclusive environment for diverse populations. The team strives to break the perception that the manufacturing industry is exclusive to certain groups of people. There are established enterprise-wide business resource groups which are dedicated to supporting team members in our organization. These include Women Leadership Connection, Veterans Network, Multicultural Connection, Pride Network, and Pella Corporation Young Professionals. These efforts have awarded Pella the recognition as one of Forbes "2024 Best Employers for Women", Newsweek's "2024 America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity", and The Manufacturing Institute's "Women MAKE America" award.
Excellence in Internship Programming
The university relations team at Pella Corporation takes great pride in providing an internship experience unlike any other. The interns participate in functional projects that have a significant impact on the business. This gives them the chance to apply what they have learned in the classroom and gain real-world experience in a corporate setting. They gain access to executive leadership through roundtable events, where interns can ask questions about the leader's career path, role, and advice for success. A favorite aspect of the program is the case competition, where the interns work cross-functionally to problem solve and pitch solutions to organizational leaders. Other important components of the program include tours of the plant and test lab, a visit to a local sales branch, a full day dedicated to giving back to the communities they are working in, and several opportunities to network through social events.
