Excellence in Early Career Recruitment Strategy

The Moody’s Early Careers team uses a hybrid recruitment strategy that combines in-person and virtual event participation with posting roles to a broad range of U.S. schools. This year, they implemented a three-tiered targeted school approach, attending 43 events nationwide alongside business partners. While they take an agnostic approach to school postings, they prioritize programs aligned with departmental needs. To measure engagement, they leverage AI-powered tools like Paradox and Cvent Tracker to track early career talent visiting our booths. Beyond recruitment, they invest in their interns’ experience by offering a sign-on bonus to help with relocation, providing Moody’s-branded swag, and hosting an in-person orientation in New York City for all interns—whether their roles are remote or on-site.

Innovation in Action

The Early Careers team leverages advanced recruitment technologies like RippleMatch and Paradox to optimize efficiency and enhance outcomes. RippleMatch streamlines the recruiting process, casting a wide net to quickly and effectively connect with diverse, qualified candidates. Additionally, they use Paradox scheduling, which has significantly reduced interview scheduling time from several days to just minutes. Paradox checks interviewers’ schedules in real time and automatically sends candidates an SMS or email to book interviews, streamlining the process and increasing overall efficiency. Together, these technologies enable Moody’s to modernize recruitment, reduce time-to-hire, and ensure we attract top talent while maintaining a seamless candidate experience.

Excellence in Candidate Experience

Moody’s is redefining the discouraging application process students are facing in today’s job market by crafting a streamlined and high-quality experience. This begins with their career site which houses tools like their intuitive application chatbot Sage and allows candidates to create a talent profile via their ATS to see real-time application updates. Throughout the application and interview stages, Moody’s combines a human-centric approach with advanced AI tools to ensure efficiency and personalization. Candidates benefit from direct engagement with an assigned recruiter while leveraging technologies such as Paradox, an automated scheduling tool to accelerate interview scheduling - striking a balance between automation and individualized communication. Furthermore, Moody’s enforces a company-wide policy limiting interviews to three rounds to expedite the process and be cognizant of candidate's time.
