Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

MongoDB's D&I initiatives for early career talent center around the transformative 'Intern Bridge Building Program.' It goes beyond being a mere program; it's a collaborative journey with ERG "Guides" acting as crucial bridges for unlocking early career success. Interns engage in at least five scheduled interactions during the summer, fostering casual and flexible connections over Zoom, in the office, or during off-site activities. This inclusivity extends to virtual spaces like the ERG's Slack channel, ensuring continuous connection. Access to ERG events and meetings enriches interns' experiences. The Intern Bridge Building Program is MongoDB's commitment to recruiting and retaining underrepresented entry-level talent, cultivating a culture of support, inspiration, and professional growth within a concise framework.

Impactful Internship Program

In collaboration with their internal Benefits Team, MongoDB's Early Talent Team introduced 'Bloom for Interns' this year, a groundbreaking initiative prioritizing interns' workplace well-being. Six Early Talent members became certified Mental Health First Aiders, offering interns exclusive benefits like Headspace, EAP, and Gympass. Monthly, interns explored wellness themes, creating a culture of holistic well-being. The dedicated Slack channel facilitated shared experiences and friendly competition. 'Bloom for Interns' not only bridges personal and professional development for MongoDB's early talent but also sets an industry standard for intern programs. The positive feedback from stakeholders has fueled excitement for planning next year's iteration.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

MongoDB pioneers innovation in talent development, forging a path to early career success that transforms former interns into the rising stars of their coveted New Grad positions. In the first few months of returning back to MongoDB, the majority of New Grads are invited to participate in a bespoke rotational program. It's not just a program; it's a chance for tailored mentorship and productive feedback sessions, fostering a vivid experience of growth and empowerment. Each rotation is a chance for discovery, unlocking the door to diverse career paths of potential within their chosen functional arena. The unique experience is a catalyst, propelling New Grads to make informed decisions that resonate with their aspirations. At the program's conclusion, New Grads are placed permanently on their teams where they hit the ground running on impact driving project work.
