A key initiative was creating a comprehensive recruitment kit with interview guides, scorecards, and a matrix highlighting desired qualities, which streamlined the selection process and provided actionable data on candidate quality by school and source. This enabled the team to refine their strategy and achieve significant results: nearly 60 schools represented in their final internship class, doubling the prior year, with 80% of interns recommended for returning offers—a 20% improvement year-over-year. These efforts align with the company's Talent vision and ensure they meet evolving talent needs effectively.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
The Early Careers Team at Mondelez International leverages advanced technology to enhance program efficiency and outcomes. By partnering with Capabilities, the team developed a Power BI Early Careers Dashboard integrated with Workday to track diversity and conversion rates, eliminating manual data tracking and improving insight accuracy. An Early Careers candidate tag was also introduced, enabling the business to monitor promotions, performance, and retention via an HR Analytics Dashboard. Insights revealed program alumni are more likely to be promoted than other hires, demonstrating the program’s value. Additionally, self-scheduling tools and automated communication templates have streamlined the candidate experience. These technological innovations have provided actionable data, enhanced efficiency, and informed strategies to ensure long-term program success.
Excellence in DE&I
The Early Careers Team at Mondelez International has surpassed its diversity and representation goals for early career talent. With a target of 50% POC/minority hiring, the team achieved 61% representation, exceeding the goal for the third consecutive year. Through partnerships with HBCUs and organizations like Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), they have increased hires from MLT fivefold between 2021 and 2024. Additionally, Employee Resource Groups support diverse interns during the summer with mentorship and community-building initiatives, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience. These efforts reflect the program's commitment to fostering deep and diverse talent pipelines.
