Standout Candidate Experience

Mondelēz International's Early Careers Team places a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional candidate experience throughout the entire recruitment journey. This commitment extends to shaping a comprehensive post-offer acceptance process designed to maintain candidates' engagement with the company. The team employs various strategies to ensure candidates have a positive experience. This includes organizing pre-internship virtual events that cover essential topics like functional overviews and practical tips for success at Mondelēz International. They also facilitate networking opportunities for interns to connect with each other and with former interns from the organization. The onboarding process commences with a 1.5-hour virtual orientation, guiding interns through each step and providing crucial information about housing options, complete with virtual tours and housing expectations. Recognizing the potential stress and uncertainty that upcoming interns may experience, the team takes the lead in providing support at every juncture leading up to their official start date.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Mondelēz International aspires to become a magnet for diverse, high-potential talent to authentically represent their consumer base and cultivate an inclusive workplace culture where everyone feels empowered to bring their true selves to work. The Early Careers Team has implemented a three-step strategy: Develop, Engage, and Convert. Through strategic partnerships with core HBCUs, HSIs, and diversity programs like Management Leadership for Tomorrow, the team has consistently increased diversity representation year after year. In 2023, 32% of all newly hired early career talent came from DE&I partnerships, marking a 19% increase from the previous year. Talent engagement is fostered through purposeful programming, including lunch and learn sessions, mentoring opportunities with ERGs, unconscious bias training, and more. The team ensures conversion opportunities by conducting function-specific calibration sessions with all managers to ensure fair candidate evaluation. These efforts have yielded record-breaking results, with 70% of all newly hired early career talent being students of color and/or from minority groups, and 53% of all interns receiving full-time offers being students of color and/or from minority groups, the highest diverse conversion rate in the program's history.

Impactful Internship Program

Mondelēz International empowers its interns to take on the role of problem solvers and leaders, encouraging them to devise and implement solutions for critical business challenges. The internship program is designed as an extensive interview process, with the primary goal of cultivating a pipeline of talent ready to meet the organization's long-term goals. Beyond their involvement in significant organizational projects, the Early Careers Team curates a comprehensive program comprising more than 40 hours of purposeful activities. These include Senior Leader Chats, various training and workshops, networking sessions, and functional roundtables, all aimed at immersing interns in the Mondelēz International culture and expanding their business knowledge beyond their specific roles. Interns are well-supported throughout the program, benefiting from dedicated mentors and buddies to guide them on their journey. Additionally, the program emphasizes well-being activities to promote a healthy work environment. These collective efforts in the past year resulted in the highest conversion rate in eight years, with an impressive 86% of interns accepting full-time or return internship offers.
