Melissa is an Early Talent Recruiter at MongoDB who cares deeply about building genuine relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. A MongoDB Intern turned Early Talent Recruiter, Melissa works with every business unit, leads program and process improvements, builds and hosts enablement sessions for hundreds of employees, has spoken to thousands of students, and has made a substantial impact in the DE&I space. Before MongoDB, Melissa started her career at Salesforce as a Recruiting Coordinator and went on to become a Technical Sourcer. She excels at leveraging technology to streamline processes and increase representation in the tech space.

"Gen Z candidates appreciate transparency and feedback, which helps humanize the recruitment experience. I built out preparation materials that my team shares to educate candidates on MongoDB, our Early Talent programs, and what to expect during each interview round. I have hosted several events focused on interview preparation, including partnering with Karat employees to host a session on technical interviewing. After each interview, I provide constructive and specific feedback so candidates can better understand their strengths and areas of opportunity. If a candidate’s interests don’t align, I introduce them to other open roles to find a better fit."
