Matt Rothman
Manager of Early Talent Development

Matt Rothman is the Manager of Early Talent Development for Hannaford Supermarkets. Matt is responsible for continuously improving Hannaford's early talent programs to ensure a pipeline of future leaders. Matt went through Hannaford’s premier Retail Management Training (RMT) program and managed stores in southern Maine before moving to the home office leading communication and technology teams. Matt now leads the leadership development programs, internships, and college partnerships. When Matt is not recruiting or facilitating development for his interns and trainees, he is helping associates across the organization find their purpose and thrive.

Career Highlight

Matt is a key stakeholder in bringing enhanced storytelling to Hannaford’s talent/recruitment efforts. For instance, Matt introduced and leveraged new tools and techniques to bring the company’s strong DEI efforts to light in recruitment efforts, supporting the overall goal of driving more diverse leadership teams.
Matt’s background in building and motivating strong, multi-generational teams supported his efforts to drive a variety of college partnerships targeting diverse groups of students and backgrounds. He additionally influenced efforts to establish tuition discounts with many schools, broadening access to education and the job market. Matt is a champion of innovating a new tuition reimbursement policy that will extend opportunities to a larger and more diverse eligibility pool.
