Justin Smith is a talent acquisition leader at Shopify, leading a team responsible for staffing Shopify’s R&D internships, Dev Degree, APM programs, and more. Prior to Shopify, he held various roles at Uber Technologies, Inc. and Apple, Inc. He hails from West Philadelphia and holds a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Business Geographic Information Systems from West Chester Univ. of Pennsylvania.

Justin and team are leading the charge with digital-by-design internships. Shopify is a pioneer in creating access by doing away with academic requirements for internships and is now focused on building the best remote-first experience. The pandemic has allowed the business to open more doors, deliver regionally diverse talent, create meaningful partnerships with HBCUs, HSIs, women-serving institutions, and more.
