Excellence in Recruitment Strategies

The Global Future Talent team at Jacobs takes pride in its innovative, comprehensive, yet personal approach to early career recruiting. As an organization, Jacobs invests in national engineering diversity conferences, such as SWE, SHPE, and NSBE to connect with the next generation of leaders in engineering. The Global Future Talent team coordinates and supports company-wide recruitment efforts at over a dozen campus events, including HBCUs and HSIs. Local Jacobs offices also attend smaller, more niche recruiting events with the guidance of weekly recruitment trainings and recruiting toolkits created by the Global Future Talent team. Lastly, the Global Future Talent team prioritizes the candidate experience every step of the way, with frequent and regular candidate updates via the ATS, team members being available for questions via email and phone call, and prioritizing candidate goals and career aspirations to make the best long-term fit.

Excellence in Candidate Experience

The Global Future Talent team at Jacobs prioritizes the candidate experience in a number of ways, such as by providing transparency in job postings, giving frequent and regular updates on the status of candidates' applications, providing interview tips and resources for both candidates and interview panels, and checking in with candidates prior to their start date to ensure that they feel equipped to begin their career at Jacobs.

Excellence in DE&I

Jacobs attends annual nation-wide diversity conferences, SWE, SHPE, and NSBE, as well as local campus recruiting events at HBCUs and HSIs. An example of an HBCU that Jacobs partners with is Howard University, and an example of an HSI that Jacobs partners with is Florida State University. The Global Future Talent team strives to send representative talent scouts to each and every event from our Jacobs Employee Networks (JENs). Two examples of our JENs are Enlace, focused on attracting and retaining Latino talent, and Harambee, focused on impacting the black employee experience through recruitment, development, and retention of black talent. All Jacobs employees, interns included, are encouraged to join our Jacobs Employee Networks.

Excellence in Internship Programming

Jacobs values the unique perspective and contribution of each and every intern. Interns at Jacobs have the opportunity to work on real, billable projects with our clients, gaining valuable hands-on experience to complement their course work. Jacobs interns also receive a tremendous amount of support and professional development opportunities, through assigned local office "intern champions," mentors, Jacobs Employee Networks, lunch & learns, and our annual "intern week," to name a few. Jacobs seeks to employ interns in the long-term, converting interns for future intern opportunities through the school year(s) and/or full-time work.
