The team proactively engages with diverse talent on campuses in a multitude of ways, implementing targeted, diversity-focused sourcing strategies. Virtual engagement is key, with events hosted on RippleMatch to showcase company culture. Intelsat attends in-person career fairs and fosters deeper university partnerships and long-term relationships with students through info sessions and capstone projects. To maintain a competitive program, the team recruits nationwide, offers a generous relocation allowance, ensures competitive pay and offers ample opportunity for professional growth.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Intelsat ensures an inclusive and diversity focused hiring process, and intentionally casts a wide net. When recruiting early talent, the team relies heavily on their trusted partner, RippleMatch to develop a diverse pipeline and rely on partnerships such as INROADS, HBCU’s, Genesys Works, etc. Intelsat hires 6 Seniors in High School annually through Genesys Works which creates career pathways and opportunities for youth from underserved communities. Intelsat draws from pools of prior interns for entry level roles, and leverage their Intern Alumni network. The team maintains and fosters an inclusive environment which helps retain diverse talent through their DEI Council who work to cultivate a sense of belonging. Employee Resource Groups also promote cultural diversity and understanding by fostering a more inclusive and collaborative workplace.

Interns actively participate in Lunch & Learn sessions, led by diverse leaders, fostering cross-functional insights into Intelsat's expansive operations, emphasizing the crucial role of satellite connectivity. The program places a strong emphasis on networking to build a supportive community connecting interns to the heart of Intelsat's mission—facilitating global connectivity. Interns culminate their experience by presenting projects, receiving feedback in a dynamic setting, and contributing to Intelsat's legacy of innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of satellite communications.
