Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

Huntington Bank’s innovative approach to recruitment starts by building relationships early with students. Huntington’s early identification program, RISE, supports freshmen and sophomores in discovering their career interests and prepares them for future internships while building a pipeline of diverse talent into Huntington’s internship program. As students grow in their college career, the early career team engages with them through career fairs, school-agnostic Huntington information sessions and general campaigns, and events with student organizations on a variety of topics relevant to their development, such as personal branding and resume building. The early career team partners with internal and external community and DE& I organizations, including Career Spring, to ensure no stone is left unturned in Huntington’s effort to attract top talent to begin their career with them.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Huntington’s early career colleagues (ECC) engage in continued career development through the year-long Momentum program. Momentum introduces converted interns to the Emerging Professional BRG and eases the transition into the workforce by deepening internal connections, and building critical knowledge (taxes, benefits, budgeting). Huntington’s performance engagement process allows for ECC and their managers to discuss career interests and development. Colleagues are encouraged to use Huntington’s Career Hub for internal gig opportunities and mentor matching. Workday Learning provides links to multiple online learning platforms to assist colleagues with skill development and career exploration. Skills are encouraged to be listed in Career Hub to assist our Talent Acquisition teams when proactively seeking to match internal colleagues with career opportunities.
