The Emerging Talent Team adopts a school-agnostic strategy, building global relationships with institutions and organizations that align with the company’s diversity and inclusion goals. Inspired by HubSpot's focus on inbound marketing, the team curates valuable content for students and nurtures lasting connections for both current and future roles. The hybrid events, ranging from workshops to panel discussions, successfully attract diverse talent by engaging candidates from non-traditional backgrounds. By partnering with student organizations and hosting open office events, HubSpot’s Emerging Talent Team fosters a casual environment for candidates to experience HubSpot's culture. A streamlined candidate journey further supports applicants by providing clear hiring process details, timelines, and personalized interview preparation, enhancing their confidence and engagement.

Tech Innovation

Excellence in Tech Innovation

The Emerging Talent Acquisitions Team harnesses AI to enhance program efficiency and results. The Programming and Operations team leverages GPT to create engaging event content, draft pre and post-event communications and content, and identify GenZ trends for HubSpot’s social channels. It is also used to optimize the team’s Application Launch Strategy which assists in candidate communication and nurturing each hiring season. Meanwhile, the Sourcing and Recruitment team employs RippleMatch’s automatch feature and LinkedIn AI to identify diverse, high-potential candidates for open positions. Our tailored use of AI ensures we remain at the forefront of innovative recruitment practices.

Excellence in Candidate Experience

The Emerging Talent Acquisition Team at HubSpot focuses on helping their candidates succeed from first contact to start date to converting to full-time. To achieve this, nurtured candidates are given plenty of content in a follow-up email post first contact, such as a campus event. If they decide to apply for a position at HubSpot, recruiters will prepare the candidates with a summary of the hiring process, expected timelines, and feedback. They connect with candidates before interviews to guide them on how to best prepare and what questions to expect to increase the candidate's confidence and chances. To improve the candidate experience for the next cycle, all rejected candidates at the early stages are sent a cNPS whilst candidates who have spoken to a manager and higher will have a scheduled rejection call where recruiters share details about what the candidates can work on.

HubSpot takes a thoughtful approach to its strategic partnerships and is intentional about including many minority-serving institutions (HBCUs, HSIs, community colleges) and they have partnered with several non-traditional educational institutions such as ColorStack. HubSpot is the major sponsor for the Center of Digital Business on Howard University’s campus, and also is a Sponsor for several women in computer science organizations across universities in the U.S., Ireland, and the UK. These partnerships provide opportunities for career mentorship and increased learning in the technology industry and digital business space.

The HubSpot team strongly believes that real, hands-on work is the best way for interns to experience #HubSpotLife. Interns are treated like full-time employees and are given full autonomy and ownership of real projects that employees are actively working on. Interns also have the ability to make an immediate impact at HubSpot by proposing new projects to the business, and P&E interns are responsible for shipping code as part of their experience. Interns at HubSpot are often mistaken for full-time employees! And they wouldn’t have it any other way. In addition to consistent performance feedback, the HubSpot team offers interns access to mentorship programs, professional development events throughout the year, social events, and much more. HubSpot wants to provide value to their interns in the hope that they will choose them for a full-time position upon graduation.
