Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

The Emerging Talent Team has a strategic approach to sourcing and recruiting, which includes relationships with schools across the globe to align with diversity, inclusion, and future growth goals. HubSpot has a focus on inbound marketing, which involves building meaningful, lasting relationships with prospects and customers. Taking this methodology, the team focuses on creating value and impact by curating content and resources that would be most valuable to students. The team has also hosted several virtual events including workshops and panel discussions to attract candidates from non-traditional backgrounds, as well as running events with student organizations on campus. These events are more casual, allowing candidates to get to know HubSpot as a company. The Emerging Talent Team also runs a streamlined candidate experience, providing candidates with a summary of the hiring process, expected timelines, and feedback. They connect with candidates before interviews to guide them on how to best prepare and what questions to expect to increase the candidate's confidence.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

HubSpot takes a thoughtful approach to its strategic partnerships and is intentional about including many minority-serving institutions (HBCUs, HSIs, community colleges) and they have partnered with several non-traditional educational institutions such as ColorStack. HubSpot has built the Center of Digital Business on Howard University’s campus, and partners with Code First Girls, aimed at helping female computer science students boost their resumes with projects. These partnerships provide opportunities for career mentorship and increased learning in the technology industry and digital business space.

Impactful Internship Program

The HubSpot team strongly believes that real, hands-on work is the best way for interns to experience #HubSpotLife. Interns are treated like full-time employees and are given full autonomy and ownership of real projects that employees are actively working on. Interns also have the ability to make an immediate impact at HubSpot by proposing new projects to the business, and P&E interns are responsible for shipping code as part of their experience. Interns at HubSpot are often mistaken for full-time employees! And they wouldn’t have it any other way. In addition to consistent performance feedback, the HubSpot team offers interns access to mentorship programs, professional development events throughout the year, social events, and much more. HubSpot wants to provide value to their interns in the hope that they will choose them for a full-time position upon graduation.

Congratulations to the team at HubSpot for being selected as one of the winners of RippleMatch’s 2024 Campus Forward Awards!
