Initiatives include career fairs, student organization partnerships, national conferences, and HPE-hosted events. The Campus Teams Program connects 23 HPE team members with 17 universities to build relationships and ensure a strong campus presence. Virtual learning simulations in Software Engineering, Sales, and Pre-Sales roles provide students a glimpse into HPE’s work and culture. The team uses Phenom, a candidate management platform, to streamline recruitment and enhance the candidate experience. Success is measured by intern-to-full-time conversion rates, feedback, and hire quality. HPE also runs tailored campaigns and site visits to showcase its Employer Value Proposition and culture, ensuring a robust and impactful talent pipeline.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
HPE’s University Recruitment team enhances candidate experiences and streamlines hiring processes using Phenom Events. Automated workflows, powered by event registrations and recruiter feedback, match candidates to roles that align with their skills and preferences. Tailored post-event communications improve the lead-to-application ratio, while optimized workflows allow recruiters to schedule interviews up to two weeks faster and boost interview-to-offer conversions. The team also utilizes a real-time hiring dashboard, integrated with HPE’s ATS, Workday. This dashboard offers insights into open positions, diversity metrics, hiring trends, and pipelines, enabling data-driven decisions and efficient recruitment strategies. To accelerate technical hiring, HPE employs HackerRank assessments for Software, Cloud, and Data Science roles. Candidates complete these assessments after first-round interviews, reducing interview rounds and helping managers make informed, skill-based hiring decisions.
Excellence in DE&I
HPE’s University Recruiting team believes diverse talent fuels innovation and collaboration. By valuing unique perspectives, promoting equity, and fostering inclusivity, HPE creates environments where everyone thrives. The Campus Teams Program enhances engagement with underrepresented students, connecting with student organizations that elevate minority visibility. Beyond career fairs, HPE showcases its inclusive culture by promoting post-hire opportunities with HPE Resource Groups. At the 2024 AfroTech Conference in Houston, HPE sponsored 35 students from the University of Houston, Prairie View A&M, and Rice University, covering registration costs and offering insights into HPE careers and culture. HPE also partners with NACME and ELC, sponsoring students and supporting their growth. Diverse representation at events ensures candidates engage with team members from varied backgrounds, reflecting HPE’s commitment to inclusion.
Excellence in Internship Programming
HPE’s internship program offers an enriching experience through initiatives like the Intern Learning Series, an 8-event series enhancing professional development, networking, and exposure to Executive Leaders. Each hub location has dedicated Intern Site Leads to provide daily support. HPE celebrates Global Intern Day with messages from the CEO, all-day events, and recognition programs via Slack and internal channels. Interns tackle meaningful, real-world projects that directly impact the business, building valuable skills. The program culminates in the Intern Project Fair, where interns showcase their work to leadership and peers. With a supportive, inclusive environment fostering growth, HPE achieves a 69% return offer rate and 91% acceptance rate, making it a top choice for interns seeking impactful and rewarding career experiences.
