Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

Hewlett Packard Enterprise revolutionizes early talent recruitment with hands-on experiences and strategic outreach. Through Forage's virtual job simulations, HPE offers free, self-paced Software Engineering, Inside Sales, and Technical Sales programs. Students delve into real-world projects, enhancing skills like designing RESTful web services or researching potential solutions for a sales opportunity. This initiative aligns with HPE's commitment to impactful learning experiences. Additionally, HPE's Campus Teams Program involves team members actively managing university relationships, strengthening the company's brand on campus, and fostering meaningful connections with potential talent. By combining virtual simulations and proactive campus engagement, HPE ensures a robust pipeline of skilled and connected early career professionals.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

The early careers D&I strategy at HPE is a systemic approach to embedding D&I initiatives across the university recruiting process. It’s centered on three pillars: Authenticity, Partnership, and Intentionality. The university recruiting team focuses on partnerships with non-profit organizations like National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (NACME) and Executive Leadership Council (ELC) that empower, upskill, and provide scholarships to underrepresented students. HBCU and HSI recruitment is instrumental to intentional support of differentiated MSI efforts. The team recently deployed campus-specific teams to drive authentic, continuous engagement, including targeted outreach and investment in minority-focused student organizations at PWIs. The UR team partners with HPE’s DE&I office to offer professional development, networking, and URM-focused ERGs, creating community and fostering inclusivity for new grads and interns at HPE.

Impactful Internship Program

HPE’s internship program creates a transformative experience for participants through early integration, values and community focus, and meaningful projects. Upon accepting their offers, interns are seamlessly integrated into the organization, fostering connections with fellow interns at a local and national level. Designated site leads and the internship program manager ensure interns receive curated support throughout their journey. From day one, interns are empowered with an emphasis on HPE’s core values. They are entrusted with real-world problems, allowing them to develop problem-solving skills and technical expertise. At the end of the program, interns present their projects to their entire site teams, enhancing their ability to articulate and present their ideas. Interns also participate in volunteer activities and community engagement throughout the program.
