Excellence in Candidate Experience
HashiCorp sets prospective interns up for success by outlining the interviewing and hiring process on its website, including tips for interview preparation. Interviews are designed with coachability and humility in mind, and interviewers are trained to support candidates through questions. Before onboarding, interns are given opportunities to connect on virtual calls with former interns and company leaders. Additionally, the Early Career team maintains consistent touchpoints with candidates to ensure they feel prepared and confident from day one.

HashiCorp partners internally with employee resource groups that lead intern-specific events and encourage interns to join their communities. The company has also coordinated activities such as Drag Bingo, Intro to ASL classes, and a DIY Brazilian chocolate-making class with external partners. Interns stay engaged by participating in professional development sessions and a formal mentor program, with special factors considered when pairing mentors, such as roles, hobbies, communities, and shared experiences. They also attend live speaker series events featuring executive leaders, employee resource group events, and volunteer opportunities.
Excellence in Internship Programming
HashiCorp offered both onsite and remote internship opportunities, creating interactive virtual experiences that provide a strong network of support. The 2024 interns rated the program with a 92 NPS score as one they’d recommend, and 100% expressed satisfaction with their in-person experience. Executive Leadership members are highly accessible to interns, meeting with them to share advice and insights. HashiCorp interns work on mission-critical projects and showcase their contributions through final presentations open to the entire company. While the program runs for 12 weeks, some interns may be granted extension opportunities, allowing them to continue building skills and strengthening relationships with team members. Additionally, HashiCorp provides pathways for interns to convert to full-time roles following graduation.
