Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
Equifax has an early career strategy that focuses on the intern program as a pipeline for the full-time rotation programs. This means that when recruiting for interns, there is a unique strategy and selling proposition for students. They are automatically informed about what happens after the internship program and the opportunities that exist for career growth and development. This approach has garnered lots of positive feedback, as students are not just looking to understand the conversion rate from intern to full-time but also their career growth and development in their first few years with the organization. In addition, Equifax brings a very specific financial inclusion workshop to target schools across diverse student groups to ensure a diverse population has access to this vital information. The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the information, which is often lacking elsewhere.
Excellence in Candidate Experience
The team provides an excellent candidate experience by focusing on key areas and executing them well. Communication is critical from the start of the process to the end, ensuring students know where they are in the application process and the timelines for progression and completion. Once the interview is complete—which consists of a one-stage process—decisions for offers are extended the very next working day, providing candidates with a clear path forward. New this year, the team is piloting a waitlist "keep warm" strategy for highly qualified candidates who were not initially selected. These candidates are kept on a waitlist and receive monthly communication. During the recruitment process, candidates communicate with recruiters until the offer stage. Once the offer is accepted, they are connected to the Early Careers team to activate the "keep warm" strategy. This includes LinkedIn connections, monthly emails, two virtual check-ins, and other welcome activities and gifts to ensure continued engagement from offer acceptance to the start date. Positive feedback from candidates over the past year has reinforced the team's approach, and additional touchpoints are being developed to further enhance engagement.
Excellence in Internship Programming
There are a number of key areas that are focused upon during the internship program to drive increased engagement. During the 12 week program there is a structured calendar of events includging - senior leader speakers, team building events, knowledge sharing sessions and there is a focus on creating energy and excitement about the full time opportunities to join the rotational development programs. In early careers that is a very clear vision and there is also the opportunity for the intern to partner with current rotational development associates who buddy up and share their RDP experience first hand. This fosters a sense of community and belonging which is further developed in combination with the RDP being an employee network member so they also highlight the opportunities the networks bring to the sense of belonging.
