Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

The Next-Gen Talent team at Electronic Arts takes an intentional approach to connecting with students by attending in-person fairs and speaking on industry panels. EA has also sponsored and participated in strategic events for select schools supporting underrepresented talent groups, such as HBCUs and HSIs to share more about the amazing opportunities and the culture at EA. In addition, EA funds several scholarships throughout the year, such as the Madden x EA Scholarship that supports HBCU students in the field of STEAM and honors the legacy of John Madden. Once students apply to EA, the Next-Gen Talent Recruiters review each application thoroughly and eligible candidates are moved through a smooth interviewing process where they connect with experts and leaders across EA. Those same NGT Recruiters continue supporting their interns throughout their internship experience.

Impactful Internship Program

The mission for intern programming at Electronic Arts is to deliver an exceptional and unique experience that prepares and supports interns to launch their careers. EA has designed an intentional, end-to-end experience that enables interns to onboard smoothly, work on impactful and meaningful projects, and build a community of peers. This year, we hosted our first ever Intern Early Access where interns traveled to one of our major studios during their first week for onboarding and fun. Throughout an intern’s time at EA, they are invited to attend coffee chats and Friday socials to help build their network, workshops and development days to continue their learning, and executive speaker series to learn more about leaders’ career journeys. Last but not least, with EA’s play-centered culture, there’s always day-to-day fun like intern olympics, casual gaming sessions, Apex Legends tournaments, and more.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

The onboarding journey at EA supports new hires through their first year by providing learning opportunities, connection events with leaders, and community building experiences. EA encourages flexible working models to support individuals in their preferred working styles, from hybrid, remote or on-site. With community being a major pillar in the employee experience at EA, there are 7 employee resource groups and an incredible formal mentoring program that is designed to accelerate development and create a culture of support across the organization. Also, EA invests in helping employees grow their careers with access to self-directed learning through an internal learning portal paired with external platforms such as Udemy and O’Reilly.
