Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

Identifying and nurturing early career talent allows Dolby to target the best candidates for opportunities. Strategically partnering internally and externally with stakeholders has allowed them to recruit students in relevant areas to Dolby. Internally, teaming with other groups, like Social Impact & Sustainability, they provide grants to organizations that aim to increase unrepresented groups in entertainment technology. For example, Dolby partners with Women's Audio Mission (WAM), and once a quarter, they visit Dolby's headquarters for a day of demos, including the world's most state-of-the-art cinema. They interact with engineers and recruiters during resume review workshops so they can expand their professional networks. Recently, three women joined as interns after participating in the experience day earlier in the year.

Standout Candidate Experience

Dolby strives to set up potential candidates for success before they apply to even the playing field for those who may still need to be taught best practices as an applicant. A few ways to help future applicants include offering career readiness workshops in resume workshops, coding test workshops, interview workshops, and mock interviews with recruiters and hiring managers. Periodically, Dolby offers state-of-the-art technology demos to students and provides employee panels to answer questions. Applicants granted interviews receive a prep guide for their interview, along with guidance from their recruiter throughout each stage of the process. All applicants receive updates in a timely matter about their status. Dolby conducts surveys with interviewees to evaluate how to improve processes for the future.
