Recognized for Excellence
DHL Supply Chain received a Campus Forward Award for Excellence in Recruitment Strategies, Candidate Experience, DE&I, and Internship Programming.
This reflects DHL Supply Chain's unwavering excellence and commitment to providing the best experience for the next generation of talent. DHL Supply Chain invests in multi-faceted recruitment strategies, thoughtful candidate experience, inclusive recruitment practices, and standout internship programs. See below for the highlights of their strategies in each one of these categories.
Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
The DHL Supply Chain College Recruiting team takes a dynamic and strategic approach to connecting with students both on and off campus. Organized by region, the team identifies target schools for in-person engagements such as classroom presentations, career fairs, and collaborations with university staff, ensuring significant value is added to students' experiences. Additionally, DHL partners with and posts opportunities at hundreds of universities across North America, engaging a diverse range of students. Participants in the recruitment process gain access to the Professional Excellence Workshop, while first- and second-year students can join the DHL Supply Chain Future Leaders Summit.
Excellence in Candidate Experience
DHL Supply Chain provides a personalized recruiting experience for every candidate. During the process, candidates can connect with the team on campus or through an informational conversation with a recruiter. To ensure accessibility, the first-round interview is conducted virtually, and during the final round, candidates deliver an "About Me" presentation and meet recent graduates and hiring managers in their region. Once engaged in the process, candidates gain access to quarterly Professional Excellence Workshops, opportunities to connect with recruiters through on-campus coffee chats and office hours, and regular touchpoints with their hiring manager. DHL Supply Chain prioritizes creating a memorable candidate experience, making it a compelling reason to join the organization.
Excellence in DE&I
Diversity and inclusion is a key part of DHL’s strategy. The goal is to create a culture where everyone can bring their true selves to work every day – including interns and college recruits. Of the 60 target schools DHL partners with, many are diverse in nature – historically black universities, Hispanic serving institutions, universities in rural areas and universities with large first-generation populations. The College Recruiting team works closely with student organizations like Women in Business, to help sponsor students’ professional development. During the most recent Intern Capstone Event, one of the most popular sessions hosted was a Q&A with company representatives from various Employee Resource Groups. The groups represented included Women in Supply Chain, Black Leaders and Allies, Veterans, LGBTQ+ and Working Across Generations.
Excellence in Internship Programming
All DHL Supply Chain interns participate in a formalized program. The goal is to enhance students’ business acumen through on-the-job training, professional development, collaboration and networking. Interns have full access to the College Recruiting team and are encouraged to give feedback about their daily work and the program. The highlight of the Intern Program is the Capstone Project and Intern Capstone event. After working on a value-add project, interns across North America come to Columbus, Ohio, for a three-day event. Interns present their Capstone Project in front of senior-level business leaders and participate in social responsibility-focused activities, network and more! .
