Excellence in Recruitment Strategies
The CGI Campus Recruiting team aims to engage with students in a wide variety of ways, both on and off campus, in order to reach a diverse set of candidates. Across the US, there are a number of universities—including HBCUs, HSIs, and women’s colleges—with whom CGI has strategic partnerships. CGI attends numerous in-person events at partner universities each year, ranging from career fairs to classroom presentations to networking events. CGI is also committed to connecting with students who do not attend partner universities and lean on virtual events in order to do so. Two pillars of CGI's virtual events include the annual CGI Consulting Challenge and bi annual Diversity Open House, which allows CGI to foster relationships with students nationwide.
Excellence in Tech Innovation
CGI’s Campus recruiting program leverages advanced technology, including an AI-powered assist tool and Microsoft Copilot, to enhance efficiency and engagement. These tools enable the creation of customized candidate communications and compelling marketing materials, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging. Copilot assists in analyzing candidate data for actionable insights, and automates routine tasks, allowing the team to focus on strategic initiatives. Additionally, virtual event platforms expand the program’s reach, connecting with students nationwide. By integrating these technologies, the program optimizes operations and strengthens connections with diverse talent.
Excellence in DE&I
The Campus Team recruits and retains underrepresented talent through targeted DE&I initiatives. Approximately 20% of all campus events are diversity focused, and a bi-annual diversity open house is hosted for prospective campus candidates to showcase CGI's commitment to creating an inclusive working environment and candidate experience. In 2024, CGI was awarded a National Science Foundation Grant that will bring 54 black males as interns over the next three years. Additionally, underrepresented interns are selected as Student Ambassadors to promote CGI on campus, for which they are compensated. The team also maintains professional relationships with HBCUs, aiming to increase HBCU hires annually. For retention, new hires and interns are encouraged to join one of CGI's 10 Resource Groups, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
Excellence in Internship Programming
CGI’s internship program provides a hybrid experience, offering interns the flexibility of remote work while ensuring meaningful in-person interactions. Interns have unique opportunities to engage directly with senior leadership, including the company’s president, gaining valuable insights into organizational strategy and leadership. Over the 10-week program, interns work on multiple impactful projects, allowing them to develop diverse skills and experience various aspects of the business. The program also features a robust calendar of events, including industry-specific seminars, professional development workshops, and casual networking sessions. These events foster collaboration, skill-building, and mentorship among interns and CGI professionals. By combining hands-on work, leadership exposure, and community engagement, the program equips interns with the tools and experiences needed to excel in their early careers.
