Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

Today’s talent is online, in-person and everywhere in between. Cargill’s Early talent team is attentive to talent trends and pursues a hybrid approach to recruit the best and brightest. They have a strong in-person presence on strategic campuses and at National Minority Organization (NMO) events. At the same time, the team utilizes outreach platforms to reach students from across the country and ensure they achieve cognitive diversity across their programs. In addition to the 30+ school and NMO partnerships, Cargill also reaches a broader talent audience by hosting virtual and in person events like their ‘Cargill Career Pathways Series’ and ‘Diversity Leadership Summit.’ As a result of these strategies, Cargill is increasing brand awareness and reaching new talent pools.

Impactful Internship Program

Cargill’s early career programming provides one of the most diverse internships/co-op experiences in the industry. Their interns/co-ops are deeply immersed in their functions through high value projects, cross-functional team initiatives, daily operations, and innovative programs. After an offer, new hires are immediately invited into Cargill’s global community through monthly newsletters, engagement events, educational sessions, and regular touchpoints in their virtual new hire group. During their term, interns/co-ops engage in intentional networking sessions, attend skill building and industry discussions where they enrich and refine their professional skills. All these elements come together during their 3 day in-person event, Intern Forum. This event includes sessions with Cargill leaders, professional speakers, and industry experts. These impactful experiences lead to intern retention and conversion into full-time employment.
