The college recruiting team at Cardinal Health is passionate about providing meaningful interactions through recruitment. The team utilizes a hybrid recruiting strategy that includes opportunities for students to connect with company representatives face-to-face and virtually. The team uses a multifaceted strategy that incorporates a diverse range of schools, including HBCUs and HSIs, partnerships with student organizations, sourcing through recruitment platforms and an early ID program for underclassmen. The company deployed an “intern day in the life” campaign this year to showcase what it’s like to work at the company. To successfully equip candidates for interviews, they receive detailed guidance on how to prepare as well as a virtual networking session that offers a deeper dive into the company, internship program and employee perspectives.
Excellence in DE&I
Cardinal Health is committed to incorporating inclusive recruiting practices to attract and retain diverse talent. With the partnership and support of Cardinal Health’s senior leaders and DE&I Cabinet, the recruiting team has implemented solutions and enhancements focused on employer branding to become more inclusive, recruiter and hiring manager training to eliminate bias and consistent metrics for tracking outcomes. The college recruiting team has also forged relationships with HBCU’s, HSI’s, national organizations and student organizations. To measure success, the team evaluates partnerships and strategy on an annual basis and implements changes or new practices as necessary. In addition to recruiting initiatives, Cardinal Health is proud to offer early career talent continued support through mentor programs, employee resource groups, a multi-cultural community and development programs.
Excellence in Internship Programming
At Cardinal Health, interns make lasting impacts that improve processes and efficiency, offer cost savings solutions, and drive innovation. In addition to their business essential projects, interns participate in structured programming that offers personal and professional development through workshops, networking, mentoring, career path exploration and more. Highlights of the program include the Executive Speaker Series, where interns meet with members of the executive leadership team, an in-person intern week summit and intern-run committees. Through the committees, interns build their business acumen, work on their leadership and collaboration skills and take ownership of their development and experiences. Cardinal Health is proud to have previous interns employed throughout the company, including several in director and vice president roles.
