The Black & Veatch (BV) team has multiple approaches to sourcing talented candidates. This is accomplished by attending many in-person and virtual career fairs to meet face-to-face with candidates all around the country. BV’s technical professionals present to diverse student organizations to share the important work that is done all around the world. The team connects with thousands of candidates through Handshake campaigns and through their campus leader program. The program is made up of previous interns who serve as ambassadors on their campuses to prospective candidates.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
BV’s team believes in staying in touch with students throughout the entire interview process. The team makes sure each student is clear on next steps and has all the information needed to have a successful interview and are updated on the status of the application. The team makes sure the hiring process is adaptable and accessible to anyone who’s interested in joining. From start to finish, the focus is to meet any unique needs and give every chance for the student to show their best! As one of the newest employee-owners at BV, professionals will address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. The team supports professionals to learn the business from a diverse, motivated team of designers, engineers, and project managers. In offering an optional rotational program professionals can ensure that they are working in a variety of disciplines and functional areas to develop and sharpen skills to serve throughout their career.

Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
BV’s EDGE program is an early-career rotation program designed to allow professionals exposure to different functional areas and business units in office environments as well as field or client-facing work. Professionals build technical and strategic skills, sharpen business and communications acumen all while working within a structured training curriculum and receiving ongoing feedback from mentors, senior leadership, and other program support. Professionals can explore specific industries through a 3-4 year experienced filled with intensive rotations, have a cohort of fellow professionals to engage with and create a diverse career path based on the vision of the professional and the business needs.
