Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment
Benesch goes above and beyond to connect with the next generation of talent both on and off campus. Benesch participates in campus recruiting events nationwide with an intentional focus on hiring talent from a variety of backgrounds. Benesch partners with universities and colleges, professors, and student organizations to engage with students throughout their educational journey. Benesch’s 8-week internship program is designed to give the student real life experiences working in their discipline of choice as well as training to develop their professional skills. Through these efforts, an average of 85% of interns move into full time positions with Benesch post-graduation.
Standout Candidate Experience
Benesch goes above and beyond to ensure that students have a positive experience from initial contact through an offer being extended. One of the many ways Benesch creates this positive experience is through job postings that are informative and speak to inclusion. Every Benesch job posting calls out statistics showing that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for a position if they don’t meet 100% of the qualifications, and that if that statement resonates with them, to not be so hard on themselves, and apply for the job! The interview process also supports the positive experience with the Talent Acquisition team describing not only the position and benefits, but also the team and culture, onboarding and training support, and future development offered at Benesch. From the information the team shares about their Employee Resource Groups to connecting students interviewing with alumni, to how the TA team supports the student though the interview process with constant communication, each interaction in the interview process is designed to give students a realistic understanding of what #lifeatBenesch is all about.
Impactful Internship Program
Benesch partners with leaders across the company to provide a best-in-class experience for all interns. Following the orientation and kick off call, the CHRO leads sessions focused on effective communication and managing up to ensure interns are set up for success. Each week, interns attend a variety of sessions intended to expand their horizons in terms of technical and human skills. For example, leaders from around the company host 30-minute sessions called ‘Meet the Disciplines’ to introduce many of the disciplines at Benesch. Interns also enjoy meeting the CEO, learning about technical writing, experiencing how to become strategic thinkers and participating in a final project to showcase their summer internship. The Benesch internship is a critical part of the hiring strategy which fulfills company needs across the country!
