Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment

Anheuser-Busch's Early Career Recruitment Team orchestrated a dynamic hybrid recruitment approach this year, engaging in both physical and virtual initiatives. Leveraging previous successes, the strategy relied on targeted metrics like hiring data and strategically selecting campuses nationwide for in-person engagement. Strengthening its commitment to diversity, the company forged new partnerships with three HSIs and an HBCU. Alongside the on-campus strategy, Anheuser-Busch implemented a comprehensive virtual plan through the RippleMatch platform. This approach encompassed diverse weekly virtual events, including information sessions, interview preparation workshops, and recruiter open office hours. Notably, the recruitment strategy culminated in an immersive in-person interview day including a business simulation for key programs, providing candidates with a hands-on understanding of the company's operations and culture.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

At Anheuser-Busch, the Early Career team works in partnership with the Company’s DEI team. We leverage input from the business on demand needs as well as our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to create and execute a recruitment strategy centered around creating awareness of our opportunities for individuals from all different backgrounds and experiences. Specifically, the company has partnerships built with target HSIs and HBCUs, as well as with several organizations focused on promoting opportunities for underrepresented groups, including the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Folds of Honor, and UNCF. The team hosted personalized interview preparation courses, information sessions, and joined virtual career fairs to recruit diverse talent. Upon starting at the Company, Anheuser-Busch assigns mentors to early career hires to ensure they feel supported from day 1.

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Anheuser-Busch has placed significant investment in ensuring the successful onboarding and retention of early career trainees. First, early career trainees go through a robust onboarding, which includes assignment of a mentor to support acclimating to the Company as well as providing career insights. In addition, new hires receive a “new-in-position” training plan for their role, with detail on their training curriculum for their first few weeks in role. Early career trainees also have senior leadership visibility with their functional leadership, having a cadence of routine check ins throughout their first few months with the Company. Finally, career and feedback conversations are a foundational pillar of ensuring retention and success of early career trainees, of which they participate in alignment to the Company’s “People Cycle” evaluation and feedback process.
