Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
The University recruiting team at Adobe got creative by crafting a diverse set of virtual events available to students at universities across the country, ranging from info sessions and workshops to industry panels. Beyond events, the team invests in their former interns to act as brand ambassadors to help spread the word about Adobe's incredible internship opportunities, culture, and interview best practices. Adobe is also working to accelerate diversity initiatives by sponsoring and participating in programs like the National GEM Consortium, the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, the United Negro College Fund, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow, among others. And to offer career switchers the education and experience they need to launch successful careers in tech, there’s the Adobe Digital Academy. This program offers scholarships and technical training with General Assembly, with select students receiving an internship at Adobe and eventually an entry-level role.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
The University team at Adobe understands that a standout candidate experience is essential for connecting with top talent. That's why they go above and beyond to ensure that students have a good experience interacting with Adobe from the initial application to offers being extended. Adobe creates this positive experience by connecting students directly with the Hiring Managers through programs like the Adobe Interview Forum. The Interview Forum gives students visibility to all the opportunities at Adobe by giving them the chance to interview with multiple teams at Adobe to find the best fit. Intern candidates are also invited to the Adobe Open House, an event where leaders across the company give insight into what life at Adobe is like, and product innovations are demonstrated.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
Adobe’s Diversity Talent Acquisition team partners with Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Hispanic-serving institutions to do more than recruit students to join the company. They explore new ways to increase equity, close the digital literacy gap, and promote career readiness through investments in student and faculty education, learning spaces, curriculums, and more. They also accelerate diversity initiatives at Adobe by sponsoring and participating in programs like the National GEM Consortium, Grace Hopper, the United Negro College Fund, and Management Leadership for Tomorrow. And to offer career switchers the education and experience they need to launch successful careers in tech, there’s the Adobe Digital Academy. This program offers scholarships and technical training with General Assembly, with select students receiving internships and entry-level roles at Adobe.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
At Adobe, interns are empowered with impactful projects that contribute to real-world business outcomes, in addition to an inclusive, welcoming experience through their University Summit program. The program welcomes all new interns to Adobe through a two-day interactive experience. The event includes Keynote speakers, Adobe product and development break-out sessions, and community-building activities. In its 2nd year of virtual programming, the intern program at Adobe offers interns a real-world experience with the flexibility of a remote-first company. On top of projects and community-building, interns have the chance to learn from company executives during bi-weekly lunch-and-learns and final presentations presented to the entire company, including business leaders.
Supporting the Growth and Development of Entry-Level Talent
Adobe goes above and beyond to set up their new full-time hires for long-term success at the company, starting with their University Summit that welcomes all new University Graduates to Adobe through a two-day interactive experience focused on easing the transition from university life to Adobe Life. The event includes Keynote speakers, Adobe product and development break-out sessions, and community-building activities. In addition, the Talent Development team supports career growth by providing programming tailored to help employees develop employees’ skills, map out career aspirations and accelerate growth at Adobe. For grads who want to learn at their own pace there’s the Adobe Learning Fund, which can be used in a variety of ways, including conferences, tuition reimbursement for accredited courses, and even student loans.
