Summer Internship Program

Like many companies, TD Bank had to adapt to a completely virtual internship program with only a moment’s notice. Scrapping the original plans for an in-person internship, the early career Team brainstormed new events, virtual training sessions, and team building activities to successfully provide interns with an immersive summer. Some of the collaborative opportunities interns participated in included wellness events, mentoring sessions, and virtual networking lunches. Interns also received a weekly newsletter, keeping them up to date and in the know all summer long.

Virtual Recruitment & Candidate Experience

This year, the early career team at TD Bank broke info sessions down by business and marketed specifically to students interested in those areas, increasing the impact of events. The early career team also ensured that students were consistently in the communication loop – from inviting them to events to giving them personal attention throughout the interview process. The team was intentional about maintaining a speedy response rate, letting students know the status of their candidacy within a week of their interviews.

Diversity and Inclusion

TD Bank’s commitment to D&I is part of the fabric of the company’s culture. The early career team consistently ensures that they market through many different channels in order to promote, educate and inform students of the company’s opportunities. TD Bank also focuses the majority of external partner events with HBCUs, reaching more diverse candidates. Additionally, the team has run specific diversity signature events and development series opportunities marketed to URM student populations.
