Siemens’ team integrated seamlessly to virtual recruiting this season, utilizing new tools and platforms to reach a wide range of candidates and keep students engaged. They also continued to prioritize D&I in their approach, strengthening connections with diverse institutions and organizations.

Summer Internship Program
Siemens honored its commitment to its interns and was able to successfully transition the majority of its internship programs to remote programs. While the format changed from an in-person setting to an online one, Siemens was able to provide interns with an experience that prioritized growth and development, as well as allowed them exposure to the inclusive and fulfilling work environment that Siemens has to offer.
Despite the obstacles COVID-19 presented, Siemens quickly pivoted to virtual recruiting. New recruiting strategies included social media takeovers, and creating a collaboration across new intern and entry-level hires throughout the US to engage with each other. Utilizing Microsoft Teams to host panel interviews and breakout interview sessions also proved powerful in creating valuable experiences and relationships remotely.
Siemens understands the importance of providing a positive candidate experience, especially during challenging times. To prioritize candidate engagement and experience, Siemens focused on providing consistent and prompt communication to interns, especially regarding COVID-19 impacts within the business and their status. The team made sure to let candidates and interns know about the bevy of resources available to them through Siemens during these unprecedented times.
Diversity and Inclusion
Siemens promotes diversity at all levels, from entry level to management, as well as through employee training, cultural activities and events, and community outreach. When it comes to building diverse early career teams and candidate pipelines, Siemens has strategically partnered with RippleMatch along with other tools like Handshake and Modern Hire. The team partners with HSI’s, HBCU's and diverse student organizations across campuses to build connections with underrepresented groups. Internally, the campus team collaborates with the Internal Employee Resource Groups for support and ideas. Both groups have the full support from company leadership to continue to push inclusion in the workplace forward.
