PURE Insurance pushed themselves to adapt their processes and created an experience that is intentional and empathetic towards all candidates. Through their virtual recruiting strategies and personalized interview processes, PURE has created a standout hiring experience for early career candidates during challenging times.

Virtual Recruitment
This year, PURE’s team attended virtual career fairs and campaigned heavily using Handshake and RippleMatch to identify strong candidates to speak with 1 on 1. PURE also adapted their Super Day’s “Beyond A Job Description: Panel Discussion” to educate potential candidates on PURE’s offerings early on in the process, using information traditionally reserved for final round candidates. Finally, utilizing the Breakout Room feature of Zoom, the team has been able to largely recreate their in-person Super Day experience, allowing the team to connect more of PURE’s employees with entry-level talent.
Candidate Experience
From providing robust information to help candidates succeed in the interview process, to notifying candidates about their candidacy, PURE has created an exceptional experience for candidates during an uncertain time. Additionally, PURE goes above and beyond to communicate their warm culture throughout the interview process. Prior to Interview Day, candidates receive a package which includes: a PURE mug, PURE water bottle, PURE Moleskine notebook, pen, and “good luck” letter. On the day of their interview, candidates receive a “coffee on PURE” gift card from their favorite coffee place.
Diversity and Inclusion
The Campus Recruiting team created their 2020-2021 strategy with an intentionality surrounding D&I. They created a focused list of HBCU and HSI schools to connect with on a long term basis and are using this list to help them develop more meaningful connections. Over the last few months PURE has also formalized their Campus Ambassador Program, a diverse group of early talent to support employment branding and partnership initiatives, specifically around recruiting diverse candidates.
