The campus team at The Estée Lauder Companies used the transition to a virtual recruitment strategy as an opportunity to strengthen its employer brand and broaden its reach beyond its usual target schools. The company hosted multiple virtual information sessions and corporate presentations to students at various colleges and universities, including SUNY schools, HBCUs, and HSIs.

Summer Internship Program
Within a few weeks, the campus team at Estée Lauder converted the entire 10-week long in-person internship program into a virtual 6-week format. It was important to the team to maintain an engaging, innovative, and educational environment while remote. Every intern worked on a project with an assignment manager and relevant talent segment teams. To keep students actively engaged remotely, Estée Lauder hosted many events including learning sessions, mentorship opportunities, and peer-to-peer activities.
Virtual Recruitment
Estée Lauder’s campus team partnered with different universities’ career services to host their own Corporate Presentations and Info sessions through Zoom. When hosting Corporate Presentations, Estée Lauder leveraged RippleMatch’s Events tool, which allowed the team to market events to students from over 1000+ universities and streamline the process by having students RSVP directly. Their team also attended virtual career fairs and resume review sessions at universities.
Candidate Experience
Estée Lauder believed that this year it was more important than ever to offer a high-touch hiring process. The campus team hosted several virtual info sessions and recruiter office hours across a variety of colleges and universities. During these sessions, recruiters engaged with students on a one-on-one basis, allowing discussions to be catered to their specific needs and questions. When a candidate moved forward in the Estée Lauder recruitment process, interviews were hosted via video conference, which allowed the team to have a more personal connection with prospective candidates.
Diversity and Inclusion
The Estée Lauder campus team focused on increasing diverse talents of all backgrounds in their pipeline by developing relationships with HBCUs, HSIs, and CUNYs/SUNYs. Beyond campus efforts, Estée Lauder developed a partnership with the National Black MBA, which provided an opportunity for the campus team to engage 5,000 diverse candidates. The campus team also utilized RippleMatch to expand their reach to underrepresented students. The internship class of 2020 was ELC’s most diverse class. In an effort to retain top diverse talent, the team is determined to continue building more inclusion in the workplace.
Congratulations to Estée Lauder for their accomplishments this past year. RippleMatch is proud to recognize Estée Lauder in our 2021 Campus Forward Awards for their commitment toward the next generation of talent.
