Crestron’s early career team pivoted to a virtual program quickly and seamlessly. The team was able to plan a remote internship program that accommodated 76 interns, and from there was able to revamp recruiting events and leverage virtual platforms to engage with more students than ever before.

Summer Internship Program
This year, 76 interns logged onto Crestron’s first ever virtual internship program, the largest intern class to date. Intern mentors and teams were trained comprehensively in how to develop remote employees to make sure the quality of the internship was maintained. From utilizing new tools to planning and completing training programs, Crestron’s early career team did it all in a record amount of time.
Crestron transitioned seamlessly to remote recruitment this year. As recruiting shifted online, the team began conducting interviews on Microsoft Teams and utilized other recruiting tools to reach a wider array of students. This fall semester alone, Crestron was able to engage with over 1,000 students from core schools – more than in years past! Virtual platforms have allowed Crestron to expand its partnerships to schools outside of its geographical areas and the team has also engaged more alumni in the recruitment process via virtual panels.
Crestron seeks to connect interns with managers, mentors, HR professionals, and alumni to ensure the deepest possible connection between the company and the candidate. This year, Crestron began utilizing social media to update its community and candidates in the face of uncertainty. In addition, Crestron employees outside of the recruiting team were more engaged this year and presented at virtual panels, connected with applicants, and provided mentorship.
Diversity and Inclusion
Crestron values its DE&I initiatives deeply, and has partnered with campus organizations such as SWE, NSBE, SHPE, and Students Veterans Association chapters to engage the most diverse candidate pool possible. This allows Crestron to expand their candidate reach, and engage with a wide range of students from universities all over the country. Past the recruiting stage, interview training is also employed to help managers identify and eliminate unconscious bias.
