Credit Suisse hosted over 350 students this summer for their virtual internship program, all while building out their virtual recruiting strategies. The team formed new relationships with college campuses, hosted innovative events, and invested in mentorship programs to provide students with an engaging and informative recruiting experience from start to finish.
Read on for some of the highlights of Credit Suisse's innovative approach to college recruiting and why they were named a 2021 Campus Forward Honoree in RippleMatch's Campus Forward Awards.
Summer Internship Program
Credit Suisse Americas took their summer internship virtual for the first time this year in order to ensure the safety of their interns while also delivering a substantial learning experience. They were able to host 357 Summer Analysts and Summer Associates from around the world, helping these students gain hands-on business experience through mentorship programs, weekly meetings with leadership, and high-impact projects. Prior to the internship, each intern received a care package with Credit Suisse branded giveaways, welcome messages from the CEO and senior leaders within their group, and multiple communications from their assigned mentor.
Virtual Recruitment
Credit Suisse built out a robust and innovative virtual recruitment strategy spanning multiple platforms, formats, and audiences. Utilizing research from third-party vendors, the team made sure to address concerns about Zoom fatigue, monotonous content, and the ability to make a personal connection in a virtual setting. The Credit Suisse team transitioned formerly in-person school presentations, networking sessions, and career fairs into engaging virtual formats. New events included career development workshops, technical trainings, TED-style talks and virtual coffee chats.
Candidate Experience
This year, the early career team provided an engaging and flexible experience for candidates while highlighting Credit Suisse culture. The team worked hard to keep interviews as close to the in-person experience as possible, with live video conferences for students to hear from employees in real-time. Credit Suisse also remained flexible by offering phone interviews and a variety of interview times this year, rather than strict schedules, to accommodate students.
Diversity and Inclusion
From an early engagement strategy that strives to reach diverse candidates to partnerships with external organizations like HBCUConnect, Credit Suisse prioritizes reaching all areas of diverse talent. Diverse sourcing is another key to Credit Suisse’s strategy – the campus team builds diverse pipelines through school targeting, including building relationships with 23 HBCUs through active recruitment and events, and dynamic programs that pipeline into internships that target female and underrepresented talent, such as the Women’s Mentor Program and Steps to Success.
Congratulations to Credit Suisse for their accomplishments this past year. RippleMatch is proud to recognize Credit Suisse in our 2021 Campus Forward Awards for their commitment toward the next generation of talent.
