Arrive Logistics’ number one priority for summer 2020 interns was upholding their commitment to providing a meaningful and educational experience. By acting quickly and being resourceful, Arrive was able to successfully adapt their program to a virtual format that received rave reviews from their interns. The Arrive team also found success with virtual recruiting as they implemented new events and expanded their student reach.
Read on for some of the highlights of Arrive Logistics' innovative approach to college recruiting and why they were named a 2021 Campus Forward Honoree in RippleMatch's Campus Forward Awards.
Summer Internship Program
During the largely virtual internship, the Arrive team built rapport by nurturing engaging slack channels and by creating opportunities for interns to collaborate on relevant projects and engage in meaningful work. For example – interns were able to directly service some of Arrive’s biggest customers, providing hands-on experience and the opportunity to make real business contributions with impact. The virtual format was such a success that some interns were able to continue with their internship into the fall semester, gaining critical professional development even when they were back on campus.
Virtual Recruitment
This past fall, the Arrive team was able to participate in more than 40 campus recruiting events, many of which were with new university partners. Arrive approached these events with the goal of providing value to students and acting as a consultative collaborator, resulting in a list of events that included mock interviews, networking mixers, winter externships and more.
Candidate Experience
The Arrive early career recruitment team was able to provide a standout candidate experience to students across the country through engaging and educational virtual programming. Students engaging with Arrive had the opportunity to connect with employees outside of talent acquisition, giving them an inside look at the company and the jobs they were most interested in. Arrive also invested in video collateral and content to showcase company life and bring the energy and buzz of a freight brokerage into the homes of candidates.
Diversity and Inclusion
To build diverse early-career teams, Arrive utilizes platforms that allow their team to reach out to students at scale across the country. Rather than leaning into a handful of schools where they have a high alumni concentration, the Arrive team prioritizes expanding university partnerships. From recruiting at HBCUs to widening the scope of organizations they partner with, the Arrive team believes that getting in front of students from every walk of life and background is an essential part of D&I.
