Arcadis’ early career team successfully launched a virtual recruiting and internship program this year. New engaging events like virtual lunch-and-learns and product updates kept candidates in the loop about life at Arcadis, and bolstered engagement.

Summer Internship Program
Presented with a difficult situation, the Arcadis campus team put together a strategy to onboard interns in a remote capacity, pulling together tools and resources to help train interns so they could contribute to the organization and have a meaningful impact over their summer. When making the decision whether to keep their internship program the campus team went to bat for their interns, pitching a persuasive narrative which underscored how important interns are to Arcadis’ talent pipeline. With the support of company leadership, they were able to continue and support a successful virtual intern program.
Arcadis shifted to a virtual recruiting strategy this year and leveraged their corporate-wide Digital Initiative push to create content in a virtual reality setting, which helped replace some factors of in-person engagement. Arcadis also leveraged their CRM to extend their reach to candidates, held office hours with targeted candidates, and, when possible, aligned them with recent college graduates at Arcadis to maintain lines of communication.
Arcadis’ campus team communicated regularly with candidates this year, keeping them up to date and in the loop with recruiting timelines, virtual events and candidacy updates. In addition to their social media presence, the team also started hosting information sessions, lunch and learns, and virtual tours of some of projects to give candidates better insight into work at Arcadis. These events helped build a personal, engaging candidate experience throughout the year.
Diversity and Inclusion
Arcadis believes that diversity hones its competitive edge and contributes to its company's strength. D&I has been a major priority for Arcadis this year – one strategy employed by their recruiting team is promoting employee referrals more aggressively, which has been proven to increase diversity referrals and, ultimately, hires. Also, the early career team has started partnering with Arcadis’ Affinity Groups like Arcadis Pride, the Black Employee Network, and LATINX to engage with students at HBCUs and other diversity-focused organizations.
