The Aramark team believes in ‘grit’ – meaning they show up when things become challenging. This mentality is what drove them to success this year. From revamping their social media presence to developing closer partnerships with diversity-focused organizations at partnering colleges and universities, the Aramark team worked hard to better reach and engage candidates during unprecedented times.
Read on for some of the highlights of Aramark's innovative approach to college recruiting and why they were named a 2021 Campus Forward Honoree in RippleMatch's Campus Forward Awards.
The Aramark team adapted to virtual recruiting this year, and hosted new events like a Virtual Open House. When Aramark launched their new event, roughly 200 candidates engaged with them with over 65% being new candidates to Aramark. The team was especially proud to see this trend continue throughout the fall with over 91% of engaged students being new to Aramark. In addition to an increased use of social media, the team attributes their success this year to utilizing new tools including Handshake to campaign directly to students.
In an unprecedented year, the Aramark college team revamped their online presence starting with reassessing the use of social media in their recruiting strategy as a way to get closer to and reach more candidates. The team did an entire revamp of Aramark's Early Careers Instagram page and leaned into sponsored posts through various social channels (Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn) to drive higher candidate engagement and brand awareness. The Aramark team especially prides themselves on their accessibility to candidates and their ability to show up and provide a top candidate experience no matter the circumstances.
Diversity and Inclusion
This year Aramark announced the Executive Diversity Council. This initiative will provide strategic focus and direction to advance diversity, equity and inclusion among its employees, client partners, customers, suppliers, and communities. Some examples of Aramark’s diversity initiatives at the entry level include engaging Aramark’s LEAD Employee Resource Group to enhance virtual campus presence with 8 select HBCUs to better engage with diverse students, and developing close relationships with NSMH (National Society of Minorities in Hospitality) Chapters at partnering colleges and universities.
Congratulations to Aramark for their accomplishments this past year. RippleMatch is proud to recognize Aramark in our 2021 Campus Forward Awards for their commitment toward the next generation of talent.
