The Highlights of Zillow's Approach to Early Career Hiring
Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
Although, they were challenged with another year of virtual recruiting, the Early and Emerging Talent Recruiting team continued to hire and cultivate the future leaders of Zillow. With a small, but mighty team they strategically planned programs that allowed exposure amongst a plethora of schools. They tailored their school discussions to offer more detailed information sessions by sending out a questionnaire prior to each event. From there they were able to include professionals from their company who were able to answer more personal questions from their own experiences. Additionally, they hosted their first HBCU Hackathon that featured 150 students and represented 17 HBCUs. Participants were able to conceptualize tech that could support Zillow’s mission to help consumers overcome obstacles on their journey to find a home. This opened the door for them to build stronger connections resulting in even more internship opportunities.
