Will Ussher - Nominee for Talent Innovator Award

Will has 10 years of experience in university recruiting. He joined Navy Federal Credit Union in May 2011 as a Recruiter on the Talent Acquisition team. Prior to Navy Federal, Will worked at Nonprofit HR, a human resources consulting firm. He completed his degree at Old Dominion University. Currently, Will manages the campus recruiting/military hiring programs in developing strategies to identify candidates for internship opportunities while promoting Navy Federal as an employer of choice. As a first-generation Ghanaian American, Will is passionate about representation at all levels and understands the value of internships.

Career Highlight

Will helped to lead the talented university recruiting team during an unprecedented time by implementing an intentional recruiting strategy focusing on HBCUs and diverse student groups throughout Navy Federal Credit Union's partner universities as part of its strategy to expand the Summer Intern program. In 2020, the Summer Associate (Master’s) program was the most successful with an 85% conversion to full-time acceptance rate and this year's incoming cohort is the largest since the program's inception. Most notably, Will received the Career Champion Community Partner award from the University of West Florida.
