Waverly Heurtelou - 3rd Place Winner of Rising Star Award - 2023 Campus Recruiting Choice Awards

Waverly is an Emerging Talent Recruiter at Reddit. In her role, she focuses on recruiting for the Intern + Fellowship program and building out the recruitment strategy, which includes campuses, external partnerships, and tooling. Prior to Reddit, she was a one-person University Recruitment team at Cockroach Labs where she led recruitment efforts and programs, and scaled their early career diversity & inclusion initiatives. She is passionate about building connections with students and making sure they're making the best move for their careers, in addition to breaking down the barrier to entry into the Tech industry for underrepresented talent.

Career Highlight

"This past year was the first time Reddit launched a university tour since the inception of the internship program in 2018. We knew DE&I was at the forefront of any partnership and event we hosted. With that in mind, at all 7 universities we partnered with we hosted an event with at least one organization (majority more than one) that empowered Black, Brown, and female communities in tech. When connecting with these organizations we made sure we were catering to what they wanted to see from us. such as 'day in the lives', game nights, 'how to support your mental health in the workplace', etc. This was important to us because at the end of the day, we are hosting these events for the students."
