As a fast-growing tech company, Veeam sees the value that the forward-thinking Gen-Z talent has to offer, and knows that it is vital to its long-term success. Veeam wants university students to bring their talents and passions for community-building and get involved with making its ERGs stronger and bringing new ideas to the table. With its internship and graduate program, Veeam is able to provide students with hands-on work experience, as well as professional development skills, that will equip them to become leaders of the future.

Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment

Post-COVID, university recruiting provided a great opportunity for Veeam to enhance its recruiting and sourcing strategies for talent. The company currently has a hybrid approach, recruiting in-person and virtually. Knowing students’ desire for in-person interactions, however, the majority of its engagements are on campus. Additionally, Veeam uses campaigning, sourcing, and event management by leveraging WayUp. The company takes a personal approach with its UR hires, and ensures that their experience is full of mentorship and professional development. The team provides summer sessions around resumes enhancements, interviewing tips, as well as presentation delivery. Veeam’s goal is to ensure that students feel supported as they navigate their transition from college to career.

Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

Veeam is committed to attracting, hiring, and developing students from underrepresented communities and removing barriers to their success. To increase its ability to attract this talent, Veeam partnered with HBCUs and Diversity Networking events as a part of its recruiting strategy. Additionally, Veeam has been taking an inclusive approach to hiring by broadening position qualifications and diversifying the interview process. In an effort to develop and retain diverse early career talent, the UR team partners closely with company ERGs to provide both education and mentorship as students are adapting to the workforce.

Impactful Internship Program

Veeam is excited to offer an on-location hybrid program for 2023, which will allow interns to be in office 2-3 days a week at its Alpharetta, GA campus, and work the remaining days from home. This approach is really impactful for students seeking real-work experience in a corporate environment to meet other employees, have the ability to network and work with the other interns, and also have in-person programming like guest speakers, collaboration improv, training, and more. While the University Relations team will provide a summer filled with programming and development, students will also work day-to-day with their manager on the job, working on projects and gaining an understanding for what the role would look like as a full-time employee. Veeam is confident the company can provide an impactful summer, as University Relations is ending 2022 with a conversion rate of 100%!

Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent

Veeam offers many opportunities for entry-level hires that are a part of the Graduate Program. Within this program, hires will start by being immersed in training to set them up for success in their role, and become a Veeam knowledge expert. The Sales Acceleration team and University Relations team will be by the new hires side every step of the way as they are onboarded and preparing to take on their role post-training. Also included in the Graduate Program is a year filled with mentoring, development opportunities, guest speakers, Employee Resource Group engagement, and social events. Graduates also have the opportunities to buddy with summer interns and provide them with insight and advice from college to career.
