Building an Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruiting
TTEC values diversity in their recruiting processes so they recruit from a wide range of institutions all over the country. TTEC does not recruit for specific majors and instead recruit talented individuals with a desire to be future leaders in the business world. In their last internship cohort, they had interns with backgrounds from Neuroscience to Chemical Engineering to History to Business, and everything in between! The team attends and hosts events with recruiting platforms to recruit diverse early career talent and also attend a range of events at higher education institutions such as career fairs and employer-led resume reviews. Their recruiters strategically source candidates and follow through with recruiting initiatives. They call each candidate before every interview to ensure they are comfortable and send encouraging thoughts.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
The TTEC team creates a positive candidate experience by being clear and efficient throughout the recruitment process. They always strive to create a seamless and smooth recruitment process for candidates by moving them through the pipeline in a timely manner (candidates do not wait more than one week for feedback and next steps). Their recruiters support candidates by calling them before every interview to wish them good luck and share encouraging thoughts. Additionally, if a candidate advances to the final round interview, a recruiter provides clear and concise feedback for the candidate so they can feel more confident in their final round. Each intern has a final round interview with three senior leaders where they are able to connect with more people in the organization and gain more insights into TTEC's company culture.
Moving the Needle on Diversity & Inclusion
The TTEC team recruits diverse talent by attending events and partnering with Minority Serving Institutions. They recruit at a wide range of institutions throughout the country and seek diversity in every sense of the word. They ensure to have diverse interviewers on final round interview panels to make candidates feel more comfortable. Additionally, their programs feature a structured mentorship program, exposure to diverse leadership, and exposure to Employee Resource Groups. Interns are encouraged to join ERGs and attend events hosted by TTEC's DEI Committee.
Investing in Impactful Internship Programs
TTEC built their internship program on learning, leadership development, impact, and community building. Interns are empowered from day one because they are truly part of the team. A unique aspect of the program is the placement process in departments/projects. They do not automatically place interns in departments or assign them to projects, instead, the intern has the autonomy. TTEC considers the interns' needs, skills, and goals when they match interns to departments - they drive the process. Additionally, interns have direct exposure to C-Level executives and work on a summer-long project for executives. TTEC also has a formal mentorship program where interns can take their leadership development to the next level.
