Multi-Faceted and Thoughtful Approach to University Recruitment
The university recruiting team at Trimble strategically joins in-person and virtual events to match the organization's overall OKRs related to diversity and early career hiring. Trimble utilizes a hybrid approach with virtual events dedicated to diversity organizations such as SWE, NSBE and SHPE ranging from info sessions to technology presentations. Trimble then couples these virtual events with in-person, campus specific events targeting those same diversity organizations along with traditional all-major and major specific career fairs. Students register via Trimble's CRM, Eightfold, and apply online. Trimble then prioritizes those candidates for initial screens and match their skills up with the appropriate hiring manager and their team serves as a dedicated resource in every step of the process.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
Trimble sees value in D&I recruitment, but even more value in nourishing and retaining this talent. Trimble has engaged at local, regional and national levels with diversity organizations such as SWE, SHPE, NSBE and Afrotech to support students through virtual and in-person events. Employee Resource Networks play a pivotal role in this engagement as they attend these events and serve as mentors to share their story. Entry level talent is a launch pad for diversity within the organization. Trimble knows how important it is to find the right talent that can see themselves at Trimble, but even more important connect them with the right resources to thrive long-term.
Impactful Internship Program
Trimble is a large, complex business with a footprint in a variety of industries. Sometimes difficult to learn, Trimble empowers interns to jump head first into their technology with impactful projects that contribute to business outcomes through their mentorship program. From being part of the planning process for the go-to-market strategy of a new product to programming new software to serve customers better, the projects interns work on provide real-life experience to take part and lead these initiatives. Interns also have a chance to learn and network with Sector VP’s, conduct final project presentations for business leaders and take part in ‘Dirt Days’ where they get hands-on experience with Trimble's technology.
