The Pillars of an Award-Winning Program
TechStyleOS was selected as a 2023 Campus Forward Award Winner for their unwavering commitment to seeking out and hiring early career talent, their emphasis on diversity & inclusion, and investments in nurturing and retaining the next generation of talent. Please see below for the highlights of their approach to early career recruitment.
Demonstrated Investment in Early Career Hiring
TechStyleOS is passionate about providing opportunities to the next generation of talent so that its brands continue to be at the forefront of fashion and technology. Through campus recruiting and by providing an award-winning summer internship program, the TechStyleOS early talent team provides ample space and time for the business to connect with early talent candidates and show them why TechStyleOS is a leader in retail.
Innovative and Multi-Faceted Approach to University Recruitment
At TechStyleOS, the early career talent team gets creative with its strategies by seeking out free or low-cost career fairs and portfolio review days with local universities, as well as staying closely keyed in to registration dates of events to get the best deal and meet as many students as the team can each recruiting season. The team also utilizes employees who may be alumni of local or national universities and empowers them to speak to groups of students through classes, and therefore create organic student ambassadors at those schools.
Overarching Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion
The TechStyleOS early career talent team works closely with the Diversity & Inclusion team to ensure diverse and equitable hiring for internship and entry-level roles. They are dedicated to D&I via four commitments: increasing recruitment of underrepresented groups, conducting company-wide D&I training (most recently on unconscious bias), weaving multiculturalism into their corporate DNA through Employee Resource Groups, and engaging and mentoring young adults from historically underprivileged local communities.
Impactful Internship Program
Internships at TechStyleOS are anything but conventional – interns have the unique opportunity to be immersed into various functional areas across the organization. They work on significant business projects as well as their own unique capstone project during their assignment. They participate in professional skill-building workshops led by internal subject matter experts, enjoy coffee chats and lunch & learns with executive leaders, and connect with their fellow interns through engaging social events. They report to a mentor and have regular touch-bases with them to discuss project feedback, areas for growth and development, and more.
Growth and Development of the Next Generation of Talent
TechStyleOS believes in building programs that engage, excite, and develop entry-level employees in their life and career. New hires begin their journey with a comprehensive onboarding program built to accelerate performance and engagement, called "Fashion Week". Additionally, the company recently launched an initiative, “Mentoring@TechStyle", which connects mentors with mentees. TechStyleOS regularly hosts employee learning and development workshops, as well as uses a quarterly review program to provide employees with the tools to help cultivate their growth on a regular basis, with the support of their manager.
