The Stantec campus team engaged in a wide variety of sourcing methodologies this year, mainly focused on diversity and inclusion. The team engaged in two regional NSBE conferences, the SWE National Conference, AISES National Conference, and O4U National Engineering Conference. The team has a focused HBCU investment and recruitment strategy, designed for engagement and hiring, not "box-checking." Engagement included in-person information sessions, on-campus interviews, virtual career fairs, and virtual workshops for students of all backgrounds.
Crafting a Standout Candidate Experience
The Stantec campus recruiting team understands the environment of the modern university campus. They strive to understand student needs, then build and work a process that is fair for all students of every background. The team focuses on grass-roots diversity student groups, HBCUs, and professional organizations to grow an extraordinarily diverse and qualified candidate pool for hiring managers. The team runs resume workshops, mock interviews, and townhall-style Q&A sessions to help students succeed in the interview process, even if it's not with Stantec. Every student is treated like a human with dignity and respect, not just an applicant. The team focuses on development and mentoring during their internships. Stantec students are engaged in meaningful work that has real impact.
